Internet Explorer 6.0 Logon Problems

Recently, some clients been having problems logging in with Internet Explorer 6.0. IE 6 has a new Privacy framework that restricts certain cookies from being allowed on the computer.

In some cases, this has been interfering with cookies that are issued by the MIS server to keep track of user information, including logons.

Here's how to work around this problem:

• In Internet Explorer 6, go to Tools | Internet Options on the menu
• Select the "Privacy" tab and hit the "Advanced..." button
• Check the box that says "Override Automatic Cookie Handling"
• Check the box that says "Always Accept Session Cookies" and click "OK"
• Click "OK" again and close Internet Explorer
• Reopen Internet Explorer and the problem should be solved.
